Skate or Die – a feature length documentary

Skate or Die is an important documentary about escaping gang violence and the growing urban skateboard movement. It’s on Kickstarter now, and has about 25 days to go. The film follows a young man, Leo Castillo as he resists the lifestyle that pervades his world by pursuing skateboarding as a positive outlet.

I can’t express how important a documentary like this is. Most people that live in Chicago will never see the South and West sides. They have no idea where Little Village is, let alone the pressures involved in living in a neighborhood that can be so deadly for a bystander.  I’m pledging to this film and I would really like to see all my readers do the same.  Oh and the premiums are pretty cool too. Represent Chicago!
