Habitat Expo is a simple and streamlines silhouette skateboard shoe with a classy standout look. The Vegan color way for Fall 12 is tan with some nice black and white stitching and piping accents. The solid toecap wrap is triple stitched farther back giving a single surface to wear from skate abrasion. The tongue and collar have minimal padding to keep things light. The vulcanized sole is a natural gum material that grips well to the board and is held in place by a single layer of smoothed foxing tape. Despite the low-cut, minimal padding the Expo features a Core Support PU footbed. These are also in the Guru Hi we are currently skate reviewing and make a huge difference in skate impact.
Last seasons Black/Indigio is still available in a number of sizes. Don’t worry about CCS’s description. The linked color way is all canvas and all Vegan.

It seems like most of the vegan shoes made by skate shoe companies are actually for chilling/”lifestyle” purposes, and not actually for skating. This bums me out. I don’t know what to do when my virtually indestructible synthetic leather Es Accels finally go out on me.
I would like to see more synthetics used in skateboard shoes too. I think the best way is to let the brands know what you want by emailing them, using twitter, and posting in the comments. There are always a few available each season though it tends to very on brand.
Got these shoes, totally nice. Something about a lotta vegan shoes though, you’ll get through the first layer within 2 sessions. Also, the tongue always moves to the side and gets tucked in, which is pretty annoying. But they’re overall nice.
i’ve always look at these types of ‘skate shoes’ as shoes i wear to work. like Macklin said they tear apart so fast you’re out of skate shoes.
Could anyone post any comments on the sizing? Like, compared to Vans Era’s, DVS’, etc? Help please
