Osiris Mith is a new skate model for the Spring 12 season, and every colorway is Vegan! This is quite style departure for the company most recognized for skateboard shoes that are stuck in the 90’s. There is nothing wrong with being stuck in the 90’s.
The Mith is a low profile slim skate shoe, no puffy collars or tongues here. Its very reminiscent in style to another skate companies team shoe. The seam lines are a little different, but I’m not fallen for it. HA!
The upper is a combination of canvas and synthetic-suede. The canvas is on the sides and tongue, the synthetic-suede is on the toe-caps and lace cages so you can get maximum skate wear out of these. The soles are vulcanized for some fine board feel. And if the foxing tape and the “abrasive resistant rubber” is as durable as my last pair of Pixels, then they will last for months.
Osiris uses synthetics in many of their skate shoes. This seems to be what many skateboarders want for shear durability. Its nice to see that Osiris continues to do this, so if you are reading this and agree then send them some positive feedback. The price point is also pretty sweet at under $40.
