Vegetable Shredder – Justin S.

NAME: Justin Santora

OCCUPATION: Illustrator, rock poster artist (

Where do you like skating? Chicago (and suburbs) Montreal, Cream City skatepark (Butler, WI), Krush skatepark (Tinley Park, IL)

Why did you go Veg? I went vegan because I was no longer able to pretend I didn’t feel the same empathy for animals we associate with food as I do with companion animals like dogs and cats.  Choosing to limit my contribution to animal exploitation/suffering by leaving animal products off my plate for good is one of the best decisions I have ever made.

What is your favorite thing to skate and why?  I can’t pick just one, but one of my all time favorite things to skate are DIY barrier spots.  When properly cemented into a tight quarter pipe, they are some of the most challenging and satisfying things I have ever ridden.
I’ll also always love round flatbars.  Some people say they’re not into round bars, but I think they’re more fun.  Locking into a long 50-50 on one is among my favorite feelings.

What shoe are you skating in now? Right now, I’ve got a pair of ES Edgars in maroon.  They’re made of a pretty durable canvas, and the color is super nice.

Or just say whatever you want about skating Veg…
Go skateboarding, build a ramp, start a band, create something.  Help others.  Skateboarding is ours.  Don’t let anyone take it away.

Thanks Justin! Keep ripping and getting gnar on the Salads! Check out Justin’s site. Also we updated the éS Edgar page with a fresh link and low prices.
