Mark Frauenfelder of BoingBoing and homemade longboards

Mark Frauenfelder of BoingBoing.net and Make Magazine was recently featured in a video produced by Whole Foods online magazine Dark Rye. Mark talks about working on projects, like building longboards from scratch. I’ve been a long time subscriber to Make ( sort of like a quarterly D.I.Y. tinkers handbook) and remember seeing the original project description in the Spring 2011 issue where Mark and his daughter started by laminating some boards together with glue, bending then cutting customer shapes. (Download the PDF here) It’s awesome to see them in action rolling down some hills on the finished product. It’s easy to sometimes get away from that D.I.Y. culture especially when CCS is so easy to pick up, let alone produce our own boards.
